Jon Rahm’s rise to fame

When you see the story of Spaniard Jon Rahm, you can't help but ask yourself is he really that good? Well, in the words of Phil Mickelson:

"Jon doesn't have weaknesses. Every part of his game is a strength. He's one of the best players in the world."

In 2016, Jon Rahm was number one in the world.  At age 23, he has become the type of golf player that experts say, "you have to see."

Jon Rahm Profile

Born in Barrika, Spain and at 23 years of age, Jon Rahm is one of the top golf players in the world. He holds a FedEx Cup rank of second and is currently the world's number 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

He became a professional in 2016, and managed to position himself as number 1. His best year was in 2017, where he won a PGA Tour. This year, he defended the title and is the current PGA Tour winner.

His Game

Rahm's rise to fame has been meteoric, to say the least. With only less than two years as a pro, he has managed to equal the golf giants.

From time to time, the world of golf sees a top-ranked amateur player make a name for themselves and attain prestige in the higher ranks. This list includes players of the highest profiles, such as Tiger Woods, Mickelson, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, and Rory McIlroy.

How He Got There

Rahm is a product of Arizona State University where he started with broken English and needing a translator to even order pizza. In college, he won two events and became a leader in birdies as a freshman.

At graduating with a degree in communications, he had earned eight collegiate victories, two Ben Hogan awards, and was ranked the world's #1. There is definitely a lot to be seen for Rahm's flourishing career.
